    WISDOM
    vs
    Inclinations

    Why is Wisdom So Important?

    Wisdom Is...
...the ability to see life from God's perspective.  This means that we are able to trace the problems that we experience to their root causes and take the proper steps to correct them.  Those who don't have wisdom don't see any connection between the cause and effect of their problems and, therefore, don't understand what they're stumbling over or, if they avoid problems - they don't grasp the concept of why they avoid them.

    Wisdom Is...
...the ability to use facts and knowledge to come to correct conclusions.  Never before have there been so many conflicting philosophies on how to live.  If we are not able to see through the faulty structure of these systems of knowledge we will suffer the consequences of diminishing the potential of a happy and successful life.

    Wisdom Is...
...seeing how God's principals are universal and non-optional and how every civilization and individual has and will succeed or fail in direct relationship to how they follow them.

    Wisdom Is...
...understanding human nature and how it is opposed to God's nature so that we can make decisions that will avoid unnecessary problems.  An example of this is the warning,  "He that gives to the rich shall surely come to want (Proverbs 22:16)."  The simple-minded would naturally conclude that by giving gifts to a rich man he will get in return what he needs for his own plans.  A wise person, however, understands the motives and responses of a rich man and does not build his hopes on what he can get from him.

    Wisdom Is...
...the ability to see how our inclinations are contrary to the principals of life.

    For Example:

    We Think...
...that the way to greatness is by becoming the leader.  But God's principal is that, "He that will be greatest among you shall be your servant."  (Matthew 23:11)

    We Think...
...the way to gain independence and honor is to get out from under authority.  But God knows that true independence and honor come by getting under the wishes of our authority....   God.  (Proverbs 15:33)

    We Think...
...that to get ahead it is wise to cover our mistakes.  But God knows that "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper;  but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."  (Proverbs 28:13)

    We Think...
...that by dedicating our life to God we are losing it, when in reality we are losing our life if we try to keep it for ourselves.   "For whoso will save his life shall lose it..."  (Matthew 16:25)

    We Think...
...the way to get even with our enemies is to do to them what they did to us or at least avoid them.  But God knows that the most effective way to get even is to forgive them and to do good to them. "...do good to them that hate you..."  (Matthew 5:44)
